Hello & welcome. I am Michelle Welch-Rivera, aka The Gypsy Mama. I am lover to one (Jeremy), mama to Noelle and friend to all. I am an artist and love to add creative touches to everything I do! We live in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee & while we miss Disneyland (and California) we've found a home in Nashville and plan to stay for bit. I have a gypsy heart; full of wonder, creativity & love. A little bit about our parenting style: We practice what some call attachment parenting, but we call it being kind and compassionate. I absolutely love to advocate for evidence-based birth and knowing all of your birthing options. Noelle Snow Rivera was born at home, in a birthing tub with a midwife present. I studied visual arts in high school & eventually majored in studio art & art history in college. I am also a researcher. Questioning everything has come naturally to me since a very young age. I take nothing at face value and believe our instincts are a very good resource. I am an advocate for evidence-based information to help me make decisions about my health and guide my decisions on food, vaccinations, birthing options and more. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2013 after I found out I couldn't breastfeed my daughter. Why a blog you ask? Well, being creative and naturally outspoken a blog seemed like a great way to connect with others while keeping my own thoughts in check. I am not a doctor, certified nutritionist or expert on anything really. Just a passionate, young mother with lots of questions and burgeoning opinions. There are no special letters behind my name. Fun Stuff: I am an aquarius with a leo moon & pisces rising. I am a ENJT and in chinese astrology I am the year of the rat.
